What is the Classic Accuplacer?
The old version of the exam is called the classic Accuplacer test.
The classic version of the exam was retired in January 2019.

Parts of the Classic Accuplacer
10 questions on how to correct grammatical errors in sentences
10 questions on how to combine two sentences
Part 3 – Reading Comprehension
10 short passages followed by a comprehension question on each passage
10 questions on the function and purpose of sentences.
Includes sentence transformations (re-writing sentences).
17 questions
Questions on: Basic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication & division), decimals, percentages, rates, ratios, estimation, and rounding.
12 questions
Includes the following skills: Polynomials, factoring, simplifying, exponents, radical & rational expressions, inequalities, equivalents and word problems.
20 questions
Advanced algebra and trigonometry
Classic Accuplacer – Part 8 (Optional)
The Writeplacer is an optional part of the Classic version of the test.
For this part of the exam, you will have to write an essay on the topic provided.
For this part of the exam, you will have a one hour time limit.
